Consuming daily the same type of foods is not interesting. Suiting up at the gym to go through the same motions is also uninteresting. There can be change in this kind of mood with the help of a bit of planning and a positive attitude. Below is a list of the most commonly made mistakes which people commit when trying to be fit:

 

  1. The first mistake is failure to plan ahead. Going to the gym with an unspecific target in mind is the best way to fail. If your target is not clear, then how are you to know whether you have accomplished it or not? In case you are little unclear about the details, maybe you require help. Enquire with a doctor your ideal weight and then plan your goal.

  2. The second mistake is coming up with excuses to avoid going to the gym. Life does come up in the way, but that can be set with some more planning. Avoid quitting the program just because something came up at the last moment. Reorganize your gym session and make sure you don’t get lazy.

  3. Avoid working out too little. As several people lift two dumbbells a couple of times and think that they have done for the day. You need to sit down at the table for half an hour and plan a sound training program. In case you are unable to make your own program then ask a gym trainer or a veteran bodybuilder to aid you.

  4. Excessive fitness is harmful as the muscles need time to grow and the body too requires time to burn fat. Some people consider that the body only burns up fat during exercises, but this is untrue. The more the muscles mass you have, the faster the calories get burnt as muscles need energy for preservation, even while you’re resting.


  5. Avoid comparing yourself with others. We are all different individuals with different genetic make-ups that govern our weight gain, weight loss and response to training. You should avoid rating your performance as per the achievements of others.

  6. Avoid repeatedly doing the same things. There’s no better way to lose motivation by doing the same exercises in the same order repeatedly.
  7. Learn to organize the exercises that form your routine and every now and then replace them with new ones.


  8. Avoid going into the pub straight from the gym and control alcohol consumption. Alcohol has extra calories which is not required by the body and is also metabolized as fat quickly. Exercising in the gym for 45 minutes and then wasting the entire effort with a couple of beers is not a good manner to move ahead.

  9. Keep a close watch over your meals. Avoid fast food and snacks from your daily eating plan and also aerated drinks. Avoid starving yourself. This is a big mistake which is committed by many people. Never think that you can move your way through a fitness program while starving yourself as you’ll only ultimately land in a hospital.


  10. And, lastly, never look for a magic that can save you all the trouble. You can’t lose weight sitting or by moping in front of the TV or computer. It just won’t happen. So you need to get out and go to the gym because that’s good for you. And no excuses!
